We've built a breakthrough technology that can analyze materials in ways that weren't possible before. We’ve already proven it’s applicable across several industries, e.g. for quality control of wind blades and satellites. Now we need someone who can help turn that technical advantage into a thriving business.

At GLAZE Technologies, you'll step into a combined strategic and hands-on executing role where you are an integral part of shaping our go-to-market strategy, engage directly with global customers, and build the foundations for scalable growth. Working closely with the CEO, you'll have real influence over our commercial direction and key strategic decisions. About GLAZE

Founded in 2023, GLAZE Technologies is a deep tech start-up on a mission to unlock a new layer of understanding materials – we call it material intelligence. We’ve developed Carmen – a patented sensor technology that enables our B2B customers to get previously inaccessible insights into the composition and quality of materials, all in real time, and at industrial scale. Through ongoing pilot projects with large multinational consortia and service offerings with major industry players, we are demonstrating the impact of our technology. Whether it’s identifying microcracks in wind turbine blades to prevent catastrophic failure or working with the European Space Agency to ensure that satellite components can withstand the harsh conditions in space, Carmen is changing what’s possible. GLAZE is now at a pivotal inflection point on our growth journey: we’ve built the technology – now it’s time to grow the business.  

That’s where you come in.

Your Role

We’re looking for a commercially-minded builder to turn GLAZE’s strong technical foundation into a scalable commercial engine. Working closely with the CEO, you’ll help define and execute our go-to-market strategy. You’ll move between the field and the whiteboard – collecting user insights, driving conversion, and apply findings to actively shape our commercial direction and product development.

You will:  

  • Develop and test business models (e.g., hardware-as-a-service) and translate market insight into commercial strategy
  • Collaborate closely with our development team to ensure that product development aligns with market requirements
  • Serve as the CEO’s strategic commercial partner by bringing data, recommendations, and initiative to the table
  • Collaborate with customers to co-develop service offerings and deliver tailored value propositions grounded in ROI and operational benefit
  • Lay the groundwork for a scalable commercial function from sales infrastructure to potential distribution networks

This is not a narrow business development role; it’s a chance to lead the commercial arm of a deep tech company from its earliest stages. As such, we will work together with you to shape this position around your expertise, strengths, and the work that energises you.

What you bring

  • Strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to engage with technically complex products, alongside a passion for deep tech innovation  
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in business development, commercial strategy, or sales – ideally with exposure to deep tech, hardware, or industrial B2B
  • Strong customer-centric mindset with enough technical fluency to understand what really matters to early customers
  • Comfortable taking full ownership of initiatives, from strategic framing to hands-on execution, and driving them forward with minimal oversight
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and experience in using market data and customer feedback to track learnings, iterate and refine methodologies
  • Willingness to travel to customers and industry partners as we grow our footprint
  • Experience in early-stage or high-growth environments is a strong plus
